Resources for Getting Started in Multimedia

New Media Resorces for Leadership Institute III:

• Five Steps to Multimedia Reporting (NewsU course)
  
• Flickr.com (the photo site we visited; free or $24.95 @ yr for unlimited #photos, etc.)
  
• YouTube (the video site we visited; I have a free account, not sure about premium rates)
• Legacy.com (the obit service I mentioned; minimum fee of $525 a month)
• Online ethics guidelines developed at Poynter
• Ethics of blogging paper by Bill Mitchell and Bob Steele of Poynter
  
• Feedback guidelines from the Des Moines Register

Will add more resources over time, but wanted to get started. I'd especially recommend the NewsU course. It's free, doesn't take much time (about two hours), and is a good way to get a kickstart multimedia for yourself or your colleagues. A bit more detail on the course:

You’ll discover ways to map out your story before you head out to do your reporting. And you’ll learn when to use such tools as audio, video and graphics.
